Arrival in L'Aquila

I arrived in L'Aquila after an 8 hour delay in the Chicago airport due to the Volcanic ash in the European skys. We were to arrive in Rome at 8:05 am and actually got there at 420 pm. About 36 hours after we left our home heading for the airport. I was picked up by Vice Rector Anna Tozzi and Professor Margherita Mori at the Rome airport and taken to L'Aquila. It is 70 miles northeast of Rome in the mountains. Beautiful place but the center city was nearly completely destroyed by the April 2009 Earthquake. I will be attaching pictures later.
